Day to Day Itinerary Expand all
-
Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu
You will arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital and the heart of its cultural life. After airport pickup and hotel check-in, the rest of the day is at your leisure to rest or explore nearby areas. This is your chance to settle in and prepare for the experiences ahead.
-
Day 2 - Patan Durbar Square Heritage Walk, Patan Museum, and Sarangi Workshop. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today begins with a guided heritage walk through Patan Durbar Square, one of the oldest and most artistically rich areas of the Kathmandu Valley. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is filled with ancient temples, intricately carved courtyards, and the distinct architecture of the Newar civilization. You'll also explore the Patan Museum, widely regarded as one of the best museums in South Asia for its collection of traditional Nepalese art and artifacts.
In the afternoon, you’ll take part in one of the exclusive experiences offered by Maya Trips - a Sarangi Workshop and Cultural Talk. The sarangi is a beautiful, bowed string instrument deeply woven into Nepal’s cultural and musical heritage. However, the community associated with it, the Gandarbha, and the traditions surrounding the sarangi are slowly fading from mainstream life.
This immersive session offers much more than a performance. You’ll spend a few hours learning about the sarangi’s legacy, its role in folk storytelling, and its spiritual and social importance in Nepali culture. The experience includes a discussion and hands-on lesson led by one of Nepal’s finest Sarangi experts, who will not only demonstrate how to play the instrument but also guide you through its construction, symbolism, and historical journey.
This rare opportunity allows for meaningful interaction with a living heritage that very few travelers get to witness or be part of. Return to your hotel with a deeper connection to Nepal’s musical soul.

Day 3 - MoMo Making Workshop at Local Home. Afternoon Visit to Swyambhunath and Bouddhanath Stupas. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Start the day with a hands-on culinary experience where guests will participate in a momo-making workshop, one of Nepal’s most beloved dishes. Guided by local cooking experts, this interactive class will teach you how to prepare, fill, and fold momos using traditional techniques passed down through generations. It's a delicious way to connect with Nepali culture through its flavors.
In the late afternoon, visit two of Kathmandu’s most iconic Buddhist sites. First, explore the hilltop stupa of Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, offering panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. Then head to the serene and majestic Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest in the world and a spiritual heart for Tibetan Buddhism. Walk around the stupa with local devotees, soak in the atmosphere, and observe monks in prayer as the sun begins to set.
Return to the hotel in the evening after a day rich in taste and spiritual beauty

Day 4 - Pashupatinath Visit, Bhaktapur Sightseeing with Pottery and Sarangi Craft Center, Drive to Nagarkot. Overnight in Nagarkot.
Begin the day with a morning visit to Pashupatinath, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world. Situated along the Bagmati River, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers insight into Nepal’s spiritual heart and age-old religious practices.
From there, you’ll drive to Bhaktapur, an ancient city filled with traditional Newari architecture, narrow alleys, and centuries-old courtyards. Here, you’ll step into another beautiful and hands-on experience: a visit to a local pottery-making community that has passed down this craft for generations. Guests will take part in a two-hour session that includes clay preparation, clay therapy, and hand-shaping their own pottery pieces. This is more than just an activity-it’s a calming and joyful way to connect with Nepalese tradition. After the session, you’ll also have time to browse and shop for beautifully crafted pottery items made by the local artisans.
In the afternoon, visit the Sarangi Craftsmanship Center to learn how this traditional musical instrument is made and how it continues to be part of Nepal’s cultural identity.
In the evening, drive to Nagarkot, a peaceful hill station famous for its views of the Himalayan range, where you’ll spend the night.
-
Day 5 - Himalayan Sunrise, Community Village and Tapari Making, Panauti Sightseeing and Cooking with Locals. Overnight in Panauti.
The day begins early with a special and unforgettable moment, watching the sunrise over the Himalayas from Nagarkot. If the weather is clear, you’ll witness a golden panorama of snowcapped peaks, including views of Mount Everest in the distance. It’s a peaceful and awe-inspiring way to start your morning.
After breakfast, you'll head to a local community village near Nagarkot for an immersive cultural experience. Here, you will learn the traditional art of Tapari making, the crafting of leaf plates used in everyday Nepali life. With the guidance of community members, you’ll take part in the full process: selecting and shaping the leaves, stitching them together with fine bamboo sticks, and creating your very own eco-friendly plate. This hands-on session is not only fun and creative but also an insight into the sustainable lifestyle of rural Nepal. From the village, continue your journey to the charming heritage town of Panauti, one of the oldest towns in Nepal. Panauti is known for its peaceful atmosphere, beautifully preserved temples, and the confluence of sacred rivers. Take a relaxed walking tour through its narrow streets, explore ancient shrines, and get a feel for its slow-paced, deeply spiritual rhythm of life.
In the evening, settle into a homestay hosted by a local family, where you will be welcomed with warm hospitality. The highlight of the evening is a Nepali cooking session, where you’ll join your host in preparing traditional dishes using fresh, local ingredients. This is a perfect chance to learn about local food culture, share stories, and connect in a meaningful, personal way.
You’ll end the day not just with new experiences, but with new friendships and a deeper appreciation for the richness of everyday life in Nepal.

Day 6 - Return to Kathmandu, Durbar Square Visit, Women’s Handicraft Center, Shopping and Farewell Dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today you’ll return to Kathmandu from Panauti and begin your day with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historic site filled with palaces, temples, and intricate wooden architecture from the Malla period. In the afternoon, you’ll take part in one of the most meaningful and unique experiences of the tour, a visit to a Women’s Handicraft Center. This is not just a typical visit; it’s an opportunity to witness how women from underprivileged backgrounds are empowered through skill and creativity. You will visit the textile production unit, where these women create handmade products from the ground up - weaving, stitching, and dyeing each piece by hand. This is a chance to engage directly with the artisans, hear their stories, and understand the social impact of their work.
After the factory visit, guests will be taken to the center’s store, where they are welcome to shop freely. Each item purchased directly supports the artisans and their communities, making every souvenir a meaningful one.
Later in the evening, the group will come together for a Farewell Nepali Dinner with a live cultural show - a joyful and celebratory conclusion to your journey through Nepal.
-
Day 7 - Departure from Nepal
After breakfast or depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure. Your journey concludes with unforgettable memories of Nepal’s culture, people, and landscapes.
