This 7-day yoga retreat in Nepal is a gentle journey into stillness, routine, and mindful living. Designed for those seeking a meaningful pause from everyday life, the retreat combines daily yoga practice, meditation, sound healing, and participation in monastery prayer rituals, creating a balanced and grounding experience.
The retreat begins in Kathmandu, where the presence of ancient stupas and living Buddhist traditions offers a soft introduction to Nepal’s spiritual landscape. From here, the journey moves to Pharping, a quiet hillside area south of the city, known for its monasteries, meditation caves, and prayer-filled surroundings. Life in Pharping follows a slower rhythm, guided by early morning prayers, simple meals, and time set aside for inner reflection.
Each day is structured yet unhurried. Mornings begin with monastery puja (5:00–6:00 A.M.), followed by Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, allowing the body and mind to awaken gradually. Afternoons are dedicated to rest, philosophy discussions, sound healing, and gentle yoga practices. Evenings conclude with puja (5:00–6:00 P.M.), meditation, and quiet time, helping participants settle into a calm and reflective state.
Yoga sessions emphasize breath awareness, alignment, and relaxation rather than intensity. Practices are accessible and guided, making the retreat suitable for beginners while still meaningful for experienced practitioners. Meditation and sound healing sessions support mental clarity, emotional balance, and deep rest.
Accommodation in Pharping is in simple monastery guesthouses, encouraging a distraction-free environment. Meals are vegetarian, nourishing, and prepared locally, supporting a light and mindful lifestyle. Throughout the retreat, participants are encouraged to slow down, limit external distractions, and engage fully with the peaceful rhythm of monastic life.
This retreat is ideal for those looking to reconnect with themselves, explore yoga and meditation in a spiritually rich setting, and experience days shaped by simplicity, awareness, and quiet presence.
Important Note on Flexibility
As the retreat takes place in and around active monasteries, schedules may occasionally change due to monastery festivals, special prayer days, a high number of visitors, or last-minute decisions by the monastic community. In such cases, slight adjustments to the itinerary may be necessary. It is important for participants to remain flexible and open during these situations, as this is part of sharing space with a living spiritual environment.
